Collect comprehensive state-level broadband mapping data to develop state-level broadband maps

Description

The e-NC Authority (now NC Broadband) was awarded a grant from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) of the U.S. Department of Commerce under the State Broadband Data and Development Grant Program. The purpose of the grant program is to enable states to collect comprehensive and accurate state-level broadband mapping data and to develop state-level broadband maps, with these efforts aimed at aiding in the development and maintenance of a national broadband map, as well as to provide planning funds for broadband within states such as North Carolina.

Topsail

Topsail was awarded the contract to collaborate with The e-NC Authority (now NC Broadband) and develop a NCBRIM database to collect data from numerous provider sources and normalize into data structures to enable web-based data mining and GIS mapping efforts. Topsail developed tools to aid in data import, transformation, and loading into the database and subsequent export into formats suitable for inclusion in a statewide map.
